Andrea used to work at one of those paint-your-own-pottery places and when projects were left behind, unwanted or just plain ugly, they usually ended up at our house. This little gem is my personal favorite. I think it’s safe to say that Phil and Laura are no longer. Why else would Phil leave this treasure behind?  Whenever I use it, I’m filled with questions. How could such a seemingly perfect relationship go downhill in a matter of days? How could the world’s greatest girlfriend do that to him, that skank? Why did he write “u” like he was using instant messenger? Does Phil really think that pink and red match?

By the time I finish my coffee, I usually come to the conclusion that they were acrobats for the circus and they died together in a freak accident involving the trapeze. This helps me get through the day.

This was my first attempt at stenciling on canvas.  It was a little difficult because I couldn’t really iron the freezer paper onto the canvas without the iron disturbing the acrylic background that I had painted but it worked ok anyways.  The picture I stencilled is of Nate and I on Halloween when we dressed up as Jack and Meg White.  That’s why we look so freaking cool.
